This is the Ha Giang Loop done properly — not a rushed 3-day bus-and-bike, but a full week that adds the waterfalls, caves and lakes of Cao Bang and Bac Kan. December brings dry roads, sharp limestone silhouettes and buckwheat fields still holding a little colour.
